Fabulous music returns for the Holiday Celebration!

Nov 29, 2005

For Immediate Release

Contact: Annie Matlow 326-3136

SPOKANE: The Spokane Symphony and Maestro Eckart Preu will return to the Spokane Opera House and fill it with holiday music from many traditions on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 11 at 2 p.m.
Maestro Preu is ready for a dazzling holiday production!

The Spokane Symphony's 70 musicians will be joined by the fabulous voices of 120 members of the Spokane Symphony Chorale and 50 members of the Spokane Area Children's Chorus to present a program that has been an important part of family traditions in Spokane for many years.

The thrilling sounds of the Spokane Symphony Chorale and the harmonies of the Spokane Area Children's Chorus set the scene for a festive yuletide celebration featuring the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah, Let It Snow Twas the Night Before Christmas and other holiday favorites!
The night is filled with exhilarating and traditional music for the entire family with pieces such as White Christmas, music from the movie Home Alone, an arrangement of O Tannenbaum by Conrad Pope who brought us the music from the Polar Express last year, March of the Toys from Babes in Toyland and many more!

Cherished carols, beloved holiday classics, audience sing-a-longs and magical surprises will start off this most wonderful time of the year!
Dr. Lori Wiest is the director of the Spokane Symphony Chorale and Christina Ploeger is the director of the Spokane Area Children's Chorus.

Holiday Pops Extravaganza tickets are on sale for Saturday night performance $17, $26, $34, and $39; Sunday Matinee prices $16, $20, $24, $26; Children 12 and under $10.
